On July 19th, a dedicated team of ten friends and colleagues are taking on the challenge of climbing Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England. This endeavour is led by Jason, a passionate Bateman Groundworks groundworker with a commitment to making a difference. The team is not just climbing for the thrill of it—they are doing it to support a cause close to their hearts.
They are raising funds for the James Paget Children's Ward, which does incredible work for children needing medical care, providing them with much-needed treatment and a comforting environment during tough times. As the team treks to the peak, they aim to give back to those who dedicate their lives to caring for our young ones.
Every donation, whether big or small, helps the ward enhance its facilities and provide better care for the children. Your support means more than just funds; it’s a gesture of love and care towards children who need it the most.
Donate: Any amount you can contribute makes a significant difference.
Share: Spread the word by sharing their page on your social media.
Encourage: Send messages of support which they will read during their climb to keep them going!
The team hopes to raise £1000, which will go directly to funding the ward and providing toys and games for the families, enhancing the lives of the children at James Paget Children's Ward during treatment.
Thank you for your generosity and support. Together, we can make a big difference!
This April, Andy Olby, Bateman Groundworks SHE Manager and former Royal Anglian Regiment soldier is taking on a demanding challenge. He’s cycling from Land’s End to John O'Groats to support the Royal Anglian Charity, which aids members of his former regiment and their families.
This April, one of our own, Jack Thurbon, a dedicated machine operator, will be tackling the 2025 TCS London Marathon. He’s not just running for fitness; he’s running for a cause close to his heart—Young Lives vs Cancer.
