There are some events that feel bigger than the challenge itself.
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) Pier 2 Pier Norfolk is one of them.
On Saturday 6th June 2026, participants will take on a demanding 32-mile coastal trek from Cromer Pier to Great Yarmouth Pier, raising vital funds to support children and young people with life-threatening conditions and the families around them.
We’re incredibly proud to be headline sponsors of this year’s event.
The route itself is no small task. Covering sand, shingle, dunes and coastal paths, Pier 2 Pier is designed to test both physical and mental endurance. But behind every mile walked is a much more important reason for taking part — helping EACH continue the remarkable care and support they provide across East Anglia.
As a Norfolk business, supporting organisations and initiatives that make a genuine difference to local families matters hugely to us. MANY of the communities supported by EACH are the same communities where we live and work, which makes this partnership particularly meaningful.
Events like this also remind us how much can be achieved when people come together for a good cause. From organisers and volunteers through to walkers and fundraisers, a huge amount of effort goes into making Pier 2 Pier happen each year.
“We’re proud to support such an important local charity and an event that means so much to so many families across the region,” said Bateman Groundworks. “Pier 2 Pier is an incredible challenge for an incredible cause.”
EACH supports families through some of the most difficult moments imaginable, providing specialist care, emotional support and practical help when it’s needed most. Their work reaches far beyond hospices themselves, supporting children and families at home, in hospitals and throughout local communities across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
While we may be sponsoring the event, the real credit belongs to the people taking on the challenge and raising funds along the way.
To everyone walking this year, good luck with the training, look after those feet, and enjoy every mile of the Norfolk coastline.
As neighbours to Nelson’s Journey, we’ve long admired the incredible support they provide to children and young people who are facing one of life’s toughest experiences; the death of someone close.
We’re celebrating a fantastic achievement for our team - two of our apprentices have taken home top honours at the City College Norwich Apprentice Awards 2025.
